Any number | Goes beyond 20
Materials Needed:
Number grid | Paper | Pen/Pencil
Players:
1 or more | 2 or more

Learners skip count while colouring three 100 grids. They then compare the grids.

Purpose

  1. Learn the relationship between different multiplication tables

Materials

  • Print or draw these 3 grids: Grid 1, Grid 2, Grid 3
  • Plastic sleeves
  • Kokis

How to play:

  1. Hand out three activity sheets: one sheet for one grid
  2. Learners to skip count and complete the grids in such a way as to see the relationships between different multiplication tables.

3. Ask questions when learners are done:

  • What do you notice about the bocks that you have coloured in?
  • Do they make a patterns on the grid?
  • What about the blocks with a X?
  • Do they make a pattern on the gird?
  • Is there a connection between the two patterns?
  • Can you think of a reason this might be?
